Vacancy Details
In the FY 2025-26 cycle, ECGC notified a total of 30 Probationary Officer vacancies, out of which 28 were for the Generalist discipline and 2 were reserved for the Specialist (Rajbhasha / Hindi) cadre. The category-wise break-up in that cycle was broadly UR-12, OBC-10, SC-5 and EWS-3. For the upcoming FY 2026-27 recruitment, a similar number of vacancies is expected, though the final count and reservation split will be declared only in the official notification. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
As per the previous official notification, the qualification requirement differs by post:
- Generalist: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution. There is no minimum percentage requirement for the graduation degree.
- Specialist (Rajbhasha / Hindi): A Master’s degree in Hindi or English with the other language studied at degree level, subject to the minimum marks specified in the notification (generally 55% for SC/ST and 60% for others).

The ECGC PO post offers an attractive pay package, which is one of the main reasons for its popularity. Selection Process
