Vacancy Details
The CET (Senior Secondary Level) is a qualifying examination and does not have a fixed vacancy count of its own. Instead, qualifying this test makes a candidate eligible to apply for direct recruitment notifications issued later for the connected Group C posts. As per the notification, the CET covers around 14 services, including Vanpal (Forest Guard), Constable, Clerk Grade-II, Junior Assistant, Hostel Superintendent and Jamadar Grade-II across various Rajasthan Government departments. The actual number of vacancies will be declared in the respective post-wise recruitment advertisements published on the official portal.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (Class 12th) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. As per the notification, candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination may also be allowed to apply provisionally. Specific posts linked to the CET may carry additional qualification or eligibility conditions, which will be detailed in the individual post notifications.
Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 40 years, calculated as on 1 January 2027 (the cut-off date mentioned in the notification). Age relaxation is applicable to reserved categories – SC/ST, OBC/MBC, EWS, women candidates and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) – as per Rajasthan Government rules. Candidates are advised to verify their exact relaxation entitlement from the official notification.
Application Fee
The fee is collected as a One Time Registration (OTR) charge through the SSO Portal. Candidates who have already paid the OTR fee in an earlier RSSB cycle generally do not need to pay again.
- General / Creamy Layer OBC-MBC: Rs. 600
- Non-Creamy Layer OBC-MBC, EWS, SC, ST (Rajasthan domicile) and Divyang: Rs. 400
- SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS candidates of other states: treated as General (Rs. 600)
Fee can be paid online via net banking, debit/credit card, or through e-Mitra/Jan Suvidha Kendra. Please confirm the exact fee on the official website before paying.
Salary / Pay Scale
The CET itself does not carry a pay scale, as it is only a qualifying test. The salary will depend on the specific Group C post a candidate is finally recruited to. The applicable pay matrix level and pay band will be mentioned in the respective post-wise recruitment notification issued by the Board. Aspirants should refer to the relevant advertisement for accurate salary details.
Selection Process
- Written Examination (offline, OMR-based) of 300 marks with 150 questions over 3 hours, as per the official exam pattern. There is negative marking of one-third for each wrong answer.
- The CET is qualifying in nature; candidates generally need a minimum of 40% marks (35% for SC/ST, as per relaxation) to be declared eligible.
- Qualified candidates become eligible to apply for the connected post-wise recruitments, which may include further written exams, skill/typing tests or document verification as applicable.
Kindly verify the latest exam pattern and qualifying criteria from the official notification, as these may be updated by the Board.
