Selection Process
DSSSB follows a transparent, merit-based process. Depending on the post, selection is through:
- One-Tier Examination: A single CBT for most teaching and graduate-level posts.
- Two-Tier Examination: Tier-I and Tier-II CBT for certain technical and higher posts.
- Skill Test / Typing Test: For posts such as Data Entry Operator.
- Document Verification (e-dossier): Final stage for shortlisted candidates.
Kindly note that there is no interview for these posts; selection is purely based on written examination performance and document verification.
Exam Pattern & Syllabus Highlights
The One-Tier examination is an objective Computer Based Test carrying 200 questions for 200 marks, to be completed in 2 hours (120 minutes). There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer, so accuracy matters. The paper has two parts:
- Section A (around 100 marks): General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability, Hindi Language & Comprehension, and English Language & Comprehension (20 questions each).
- Section B (around 100 marks): The concerned subject, teaching methodology / pedagogy and B.Ed.-related topics for teaching posts, or the relevant technical subject for technical posts.
For two-tier posts, Tier-II carries greater weightage on the subject-specific portion.
